brew. food, in a fridge at your office.
brew. to go puts fresh food and cold drinks from brew., our café at MediaCityUK, into smart fridges inside the offices we work with. Open the fridge with your phone, take what you fancy, and pay once at the end of the day.
- Made each morning in our café
- Prices in GBP, VAT included
- One payment a day
- Card payments by Stripe
What it is.
Each brew. to go fridge sits inside a partner office and is stocked by us with sandwiches, salads, breakfast muffins, sweet treats and cold drinks. It's for the people who work in that office: you sign up with your work email address, so the fridge in your building is only for you and your colleagues, not the public.
The fridge is locked until you open it from the brew. to go app. Its shelves weigh what you take, so there's no scanning or queueing, and you get an itemised receipt for everything.
brew. to go is run by brew. Tomorrow Limited, the company behind brew. in Salford. We don't deliver: you collect from the fridge in your office, whenever your building is open.
How it works.
- Sign up onceOpen the app, enter your work email and the code we send you, then set up a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint or your phone's PIN).
- Save a cardYou add a card through Stripe's secure form. We never see or store your full card number.
- Scan the fridgeScan the code on the fridge's screen and confirm with your passkey. The door unlocks for 30 seconds.
- Take what you likeThe shelves weigh what you take and the screen shows your basket as you go. Changed your mind? Put it back in its own spot before you close the door and it comes off.
- Close the doorThat's it. The app shows what you had straight away.
- One payment a dayAt midnight we take one payment for everything you had that day and email you a receipt.
How paying works.
We take card payments through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest level of card security. All we keep is the card type and the last four digits, so you can tell which card you've saved.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express, including through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The daily hold, in plain words
The first time you open a fridge each day, we place a hold on your card for your daily limit. A hold isn't a payment: it reserves the money so we know your card is good. You choose your limit in the app: £10, £20 or £30. New accounts are limited to £10 a day for their first two weeks.
At midnight (UK time) we take one payment for what you actually had and release the rest of the hold. Some banks show the hold as "pending" for a few days after it's released; that's your bank's display, and you're only ever charged for what you took.
On your statement
Look for BREW TO GO. It's one line a day, for the total on that day's receipt.
If a payment doesn't go through
We'll email you and pause your account. Tap Settle up in the app to pay with your card, and the fridge opens for you again straight away. If you take more in one visit than is left on your hold, the extra is charged separately that night.
Saving your card
By saving a card you agree that we can place the daily hold and take one payment each day you use a fridge, for the amount on that day's receipt, without you having to approve each one. You can remove your card or close your account at any time in the app.
What's in the fridge.
Everything is made each morning in our café or carefully chosen by us, and the range changes with the seasons. Each item's price is on its shelf label and in the app, and that's what you pay.
| Sandwiches | from £4.90 |
|---|---|
| Salads | from £4.90 |
| Breakfast muffins | from £2.50 |
| Sweet treats | from £1.50 |
| Cold drinks | from £1.20 |
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. There's no fee to join, no subscription and no service charge.
Allergens
Every item is labelled with its full ingredients, with allergens in bold. If you have an allergy and aren't sure about something, check the label and contact us before you buy it.
Refunds.
If we've got something wrong, we'll put it right.
- Charged for something you didn't take? Find the visit in the app and tap Not right?. We check it against what the shelves weighed. If we got it wrong, we refund it. If you report it the same day, it simply comes off that night's payment.
- Something wrong with your food? If an item is faulty, damaged or past its date, tell us as soon as you can and we'll refund it in full. You don't need to bring it back, though a photo helps.
- Changed your mind? Put the item back in its own spot before you close the door and you won't be charged. Because it's fresh food, we can't take items back once the door has closed, unless something was wrong with them.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually show within 5 to 10 working days, depending on your bank. None of this affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Cancelling
There's nothing to cancel: you only pay on days you use a fridge. To stop completely, tap Close my account in the app's Settings and we remove your card and passkeys straight away. If you've used a fridge today, you can close it from tomorrow, once that day's payment has gone through.
The small print.
Terms of use
Who can use brew. to go
You need to work in a building where we have a fridge, sign up with your work email address, be 18 or over, and have a card in your own name.
Buying
Each time you open a fridge and close the door, you buy everything you took out, at the prices shown on the shelf labels and in the app at that time. The shelves' weights are our record of what was taken. If you think they're wrong, tell us (see Refunds) and we'll check.
Paying
You agree to the daily hold and the one daily payment described under How paying works. If a payment fails, your account is paused until you settle up. If an amount stays unpaid, we may close your account and ask you for it.
Your account
Keep your phone and passkey to yourself: anything taken after the fridge is opened from your account is charged to you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Fair use
Don't force or prop open a fridge, take things without opening it from your account, or tamper with the shelves or the lock. If you do, we'll close your account and may charge you for what was taken.
Our responsibility
We do our best to keep the fridges stocked, cold and working, but we can't promise one will always be available. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law says we can't, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make an important change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies to you. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Privacy notice
Who we are
brew. Tomorrow Limited is responsible for your personal information when you use brew. to go. Contact us at hello@brew.contact with any question about it.
What we collect
- Your name and work email address.
- Your passkey's public key. Your face or fingerprint never leaves your phone; we can't see it.
- Your card's type and last four digits. Stripe holds your full card details, not us.
- Your visits: which fridge, when, what the shelves weighed, what you took, what you paid, and any refund requests.
- Your daily limit and settings.
Why we use it
- To run your account, open the fridge for you and take payment (to fulfil our agreement with you).
- To keep sales records, which the law requires for tax (a legal obligation).
- To prevent fraud and theft, sort out mistakes, and keep our food safe and stocked (our legitimate interests).
We don't sell your information, and we don't send you marketing unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the service: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting the app) and our email provider (receipts and sign-in codes). Some of them may process information outside the UK, with the legal safeguards UK law requires. We don't share your purchases with your employer.
How long we keep it
While your account is open. When you close it, we delete your name, email, card details and passkeys. We keep sales records, without your name, for six years because HMRC requires it.
Cookies
The app uses one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
